Cement exports up 4pc to $269 million in 1H
ISLAMABAD: The cement exports from the country witnessed an increase of 3.99 percent during first half of current fiscal year as compared to the corresponding period of last year.
The exports during the period under review were recorded at $268.699 million compared to the exports of $258.4 million in July-December (2013-14), according to the latest data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Similarly gems exports also surged by 52.12 percent during the period July-December 2014-15 against same period of last year.
The exports of gems were recorded $4.53 million during the period under review as compared to that of $2.978 million during July-December 2013-14.
The exports of furniture during the period also increased from $3.519 million to $3.709 million during same period of last year thus showing an increase of 5.4 percent.
The exports of jewelry however plunged by 98.09 percent during July-December 2014-15 as it went down from $218.817 million last year to $4.184 million this year.
The molasses exports also decreased by 56.85 percent from $15.399 million in JulyDecember 2014-13 to $6.798 million this year. Similarly the handicrafts
