The state-owned company is seeking a total of 830,000 tonnes, or a monthly average of 277,000 tonnes. PSO had previously deferred some cargoes from December to January, and imported only low-sulphur grades for February and March.
PSO is seeking 10 65,000-tonne cargoes of high sulphur fuel oil for delivery over March to May and three 60,000-tonne cargoes for April to May delivery. The tender will close on Feb. 25.
PSO bought via tenders a total of 4.48 million tonnes of fuel oil in 2014, and the country generates a third of its electricity through the burning of the heavy distillate.-Agencies
