IS­LAM­ABAD: Joint op­po­si­tion sans Pak­istan Peo­ple's Party (PPP) staged sit-in on S h a h r a h - e - D a s t o o r [Con­sti­tu­tion Av­enue] to protest ar­rest of Pak­istan Mus­lim League Nawaz's (PML-N) pres­i­dent She­hbaz Sharif.

As per de­tails gar­nered, former speaker of Na­tional Assem­bly (NA) Ayaz Sadiq presided over the sym­bolic ses­sion.

Ad­dress­ing the par­tic­i­pants, PML-N's sen­a­tor Us­man Kakar termed ar­rest of She­hbaz Sharif il­le­gal and de­manded res­ig­na­tion of chair­man of Na­tional Ac­count­abil­ity Bu­reau (NAB).

"A ver­dict was an­nounced against Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz be­fore gen­eral elec­tions 2018. The bat­tle is be­ing fought be­tween demo­cratic and un­demo­cratic forces", Kakar told par­tic­i­pants.

Keep­ing ver­bal on­slaught up, Kakar de­manded to quash re­sults of 'rigged polls' and hold new trans­par­ent elec­tions.
