Zainab's mur­derer Im­ran Ali is go­ing to be hanged till death Wed­nes­day

LA­HORE: An anti-ter­ror­ism court (ATC) on Fri­day is­sued death war­rants for con­vict Im­ran Ali who has been awarded cap­i­tal pun­ish­ment for rap­ing and mur­der­ing Ka­sur's lit­tle Zainab.

The con­vict will be sent to the gal­lows on Oc­to­ber 17, the ATC judge ruled.

Ad­min judge Sheikh Sa­j­jad Ah­mad is­sued the war­rants.

Death row pris­oner Im­ran Ali was handed four counts of death penalty, one life term, a 7-year jail term and Rs4.1 mil­lion in fines in the Zainab rape and mur­der case.

The con­vict will be hanged till death on Oc­to­ber 17 at Cen­tral Jail in La­hore. Im­ran was sen­tenced to death on 21 counts.

On June 12, Supreme Court of Pak­istan had turned down his plea against death sen­tence in rape cum mur­der case of seven-year-old Zainab An­sari.

Ear­lier, Chief Jus­tice of Pak­istan Mian Saqib Nisar had taken suo moto no­tice of de­lay in im­ple­ment­ing sen­tence of con­vict.
