LHC of­fice ob­jects on pe­ti­tion against She­hbaz's ar­rest

LA­HORE: The La­hore High Court (LHC) of­fice on Fri­day put up the ob­jec­tion on a pe­ti­tion seek­ing to chal­lenge the ar­rest and re­mand of She­hbaz Sharif and de­clared it non­main­tain­able for hear­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to de­tails, the pe­ti­tion will be pre­sented be­fore Jus­tice Baqir along with the de­mur at­tached by the LHC of­fice which has pro­claimed the plea to be non-main­tain­able for hear­ing.

A day ear­lier, the ar­rest and re­mand of Op­po­si­tion leader of Na­tional Assem­bly ac­corded by an ac­count­abil­ity court was chal­lenged in the La­hore High Court.

The pe­ti­tion filed in the High court states, as per Ar­ti­cle 248, a pub­lic of­fice holder can­not be ap­pre­hended.

The fed­eral govern­ment and Chair­man Na­tional Ac­count­abil­ity Bu­reau (NAB) were named re­spon­dents in the ap­peal.
