Rs1.43 bil­lion spent on ex-PMs' camp of­fices, NA in­formed

KARACHI: The Na­tional Assem­bly on Fri­day has been in­formed that Rs1.43 bil­lion was spent on the con­struc­tion of ex-prime min­is­ters Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Ab­basi's camp of­fices, re­ports reach­ing here dis­close.

Dur­ing the ses­sion chaired by Speaker Asad Qaisar, a writ­ten re­ply stat­ing that camp of­fice in Jati Umra con­tin­ued to work af­ter the ap­point­ment of Shahid Khaqan Ab­basi as PM was sub­mit­ted.

The Jati Umra of­fice used more than Rs9 mil­lion in five years while Rs5.1 mil­lion was spent by Is­lam­abad of­fice in two years, it added.

Mean­while, the speaker ex­pressed re­sent­ment over law at­ten­dance in the House and sus­pended the ses­sion for 10 min­utes, di­rect­ing the mem­bers to en­sure their pres­ence.
