LHC an­nuls ap­point­ment of ADBP pres­i­dent

RAWALPINDI: Jus­tice Asad Mu­nir of La­hore High Court Rawalpindi (Bench) has de­clared the ap­point­ment of Pres­i­dent Agri­cul­ture Devel­op­ment Bank of Pak­istan (ADBP) as null and void due to his po­lit­i­cal af­fil­i­a­tion, non ex­pe­ri­ence of bank­ing sec­tor and above all for hav­ing in­ad­e­quate ed­u­ca­tional qual­i­fi­ca­tion.

Gen­eral Sec­re­tary Agri­cul­ture Devel­op­ment Bank of Pak­istan Em­ploy­ees Work­ers Union Iqbal Khat­tak has pleaded be­fore the court through coun­sel Qazi Naeem Iqbal that Agri­cul­ture Devel­op­ment Bank of Pak­istan Pres­i­dent Zaka Ashraf should be dis­qual­i­fied as he is the mem­ber of Cen­tral Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee of the rul­ing PPP, and a cap­i­tal­ist.

He has no prior ex­pe­ri­ence of bank­ing sec­tor, has no proper ed­u­ca­tional back ground.

Af­ter the com­ple­tion of ar­gu­ments of coun­sels of both sides Jus­tice Asad Mu­nir had re­served the judg­ment.

The learned judge in a short judg­ment is­sued here de­clared the ap­point­ment of Zaka Ashraf as null and void. -PB News
