CM pins high hopes on youth

LA­HORE: Pun­jab Chief Min­is­ter Muham­mad Shahbaz Sharif has said that youth are a pre­cious as­set of the coun­try and the nation has high hopes of its young gen­er­a­tion.

He said that mem­ber of Pun­jab Youth Coun­cil have been as­signed an im­por­tant re­spon­si­bil­ity by in­duct­ing them in the sur­vey of flood-hit ar­eas and they should spare no ef­fort for com­ing up to the ex­pec­ta­tions.

This was stated by him at a brief­ing given by Chair­man Pun­jab Youth Coun­cil Saif Hameed and Syed Maratab Ali re­gard­ing re­con­struc­tion pro­gramme af­ter the flood, here to­day. The Chief Min­is­ter said that Pun­jab govern­ment is ac­tively en­gaged in the re­lief and rehabilitation op­er­a­tion of the flood af­fectees and elected rep­re­sen­ta­tives, Pak army, district ad­min­is­tra­tion and civil so­ci­ety are also mak­ing com­mend­able ef­forts in this re­gard. He said that all avail­able re­sources of the prov­ince are at the dis­posal of flood vic­tims and trans­par­ent uti­liza­tion of ev­ery penny of do­na­tions for the flood af­fectees is be­ing en­sured.

He said that a web­site has also been launched for this pur­pose and de­tails re­gard­ing the do­na­tion and their uti­liza­tion have been given on the web­site. He stressed upon the mem­bers of the Youth Coun­cil to play an ac­tive role in the re­lief and rehabilitation of the calamity-stricken peo­ple.
