Precautionary measures to curtail dengue fever
PESHAWAR: Vice Chancellor Khyber Medical University (KMU) Dr. Muhammad Hafizullah on Friday said that dengue fever could be curtailed only through public awareness and precautionary measures.
He expressed these views while speaking as a chief guest at workshop organized by KMU in collaboration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Health Department and World Health Organization (WHO).
Dr. Hafizullah underscored the need for public awareness about the dengue disease saying that it was a fatal disease and precaution measures should be adopted to avoid it.
He said that KMU has taken an initiative to collect officials of KP
health department and WHO with a view to curtail dengue fever and raise awareness about the disease among the masses.
Besides WHO Representative in Pakistan, Dr. Zareef Khan, Manager Malaria Control Program KPK, Dr. Khalid and Deputy Director Provincial Health Services Academy, Dr. Muhammad Zaheen Khan also spoke on the occasion. -App
