CJP hopes Is­lam­abad Bar to play its due role

IS­LAM­ABAD: Chief Jus­tice of Pak­istan Iftikhar Muham­mad Chaudhry on Thurs­day said that the Is­lam­abad Bar was lucky enough to have pro­fes­sion­als who should show their com­mit­ment and de­vo­tion to­wards their pro­fes­sion to pro­vide max­i­mum re­lief to the lit­i­gants by plead­ing their cases and fa­cil­i­tat­ing them.

He was talk­ing to a del­e­ga­tion of more than 100 lawyers of Is­lam­abad Bar headed by its Pres­i­dent Syed Wa­jid Ali Gil­lani who called on him to­day.

The Chief Jus­tice said that Is­lam­abad Bar played an ef­fec­tive and valu­able role in the move­ment for restora­tion of Ju­di­ciary, rule of law and supremacy of the con­sti­tu­tion in the coun­try.

They per­formed a good job and did not back out from their du­ties and achieved their goal, he added.

He said that he fur­ther ex­pected the same en­thu­si­asm and zeal from le­gal fra­ter­nity to pro­vide re­lief to lit­i­gant par­ties to re­dress their griev­ances.

The Chief Jus­tice also fe­lic­i­tated the Is­lam­abad Bar on es­tab­lish­ment of Is­lam­abad High Court. He noted that the dis­posal rate in Is­lam­abad courts was sat­is­fac­tory.

The del­e­ga­tion pre­sented a bou­quet of flow­ers to the Chief Jus­tice. -App
