Call to set aside pol­i­tics for flood vic­tims

LA­HORE: Pak­istan Peo­ples Party (PPP) Pun­jab Sec­re­tary Fi­nance Au­rangzeb Barki has said that pol­i­tics should be set aside for re­ha­bil­i­tat­ing flood-stricken peo­ple.

Ac­cord­ing to a hand­out is­sued, he said that in this time of hour we would not leave our broth­ers and sis­ters alone.

He said that Pak­istan was fac­ing worst floods in its his­tory and they had af­fected mil­lions of peo­ple.

He said the whole nation should unite to face the chal­lenge and the in­ter­na­tional com­mu­nity should play its role to en­sure their rehabilitation.

He said Pres­i­dent Asif Ali Zar­dari was de­ter­mined to cop­ing with the chal­lenge. He added the govern­ment had stopped devel­op­ment work and at­tached pri­or­ity to flood re­lief ac­tiv­i­ties.

He said the govern­ment was us­ing all pos­si­ble re­sources and work­ing day and night for rehabilitation of flood vic­tims.

He said the de­ci­sion of all demo­cratic forces to unite in the time of need was com­mend­able. He said it was our na­tional duty to help floods vic­tims. -App
