PA admits motion on price hike for debate
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Monday admitted an adjournment motion for holding debate on the spiral of the price hike and its effects on the people.
The JUI-F legislator from Karak, Malik Mohammad Qasim diverted the attention of the growing increase in the prices of the essential household items through an adjournment motion. The legislator in his adjournment motion said that the continuous price hike had pushed the essential house hold items out of the reach of the common man. He said that the sky rocketing price is forcing the people to commit suicide.
He said that administrations are lacking control on the prices of the essentials and there is no mechanism for keeping check on the growing prices.
He demanded of the government for keeping strict check on the fixing of the prices of the essentials, saying that two time meal has become difficult for the people. In response to the adjournment motion of the JUIF, Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour said that they are fully aware of the problem and requested the Speaker, Kiramatullah Khan for admitting the motion for detailed discussion. The Deputy Speaker, Khush Dil Khan diverted the attention of the house towards the poor performance of the Standing Committee on Health, Dr. Haider Ali, who he said constantly remains abroad. He requested the replacement of the chairman of the committee concerned to improve the performance of the body. -App
