LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab President Imtiaz Safdar Warraich has said the Punjab government is guilty of worst corruption by selling government land to party workers at low prices.

He said this while addressing a press conference here at the Lahore Press Club on Tuesday.

Samiullah Khan, Malik Hafeez, Dr Fakhruddin Chaudhry, Aurangzeb Barki and other PPP leaders were also present on the occasion.

Imtiaz Safdar Warraich said the provincial government was not even reluctant to sell colleges and an advertisement campaign was also being run on the media which was the worst example of corruption.

"Workers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) are being appointed as administrators of market committees and local bodies. The Punjab government has opened new ways of corruption," he said. He said all divisional information secretaries of the PPP Punjab had expressed their concern over the steps of the Punjab government and the PPP decided to raise the issues at parliament.

The PPP Punjab president announced a mass contact campaign and said PPP Punjab worker conventions would be held at all eight divisional headquarters of the party with the first in DG Khan. He said all information secretaries of the PPP had also been given a task to reorganise the party. He said that the PPP would continue its reconciliation policy but not accept any anti-democratic step by any party. -App
