High-fly­ing Hawks notch rare NBA win over Magic

OR­LANDO, FLORIDA: Josh Smith scored 19 points with 13 re­bounds and Mike Bibby made a key three-pointer in the fi­nal minute Mon­day as the At­lanta Hawks downed the Or­lando Magic 80-74.

Al Hor­ford added 16 points and 10 re­bounds for the Hawks, who have won six of their last seven NBA con­tests.

Ja­mal Craw­ford chipped in 15 points and Bibby fin­ished with 13.

The Magic had won seven of their last eight reg­u­lar-sea­son meet­ings with At­lanta and 11 of the last 12 over­all, in­clud­ing a four-game sweep in last sea­son's play­offs.

Vince Carter led Or­lando with 18 points. Or­lando star Dwight Howard, back af­ter missing two games with a stom­ach virus, con­trib­uted 14 points and 13 re­bounds.

In all, three of the four Or­lando play­ers who missed the last two games with stom­ach flu - Howard, Redick and Mick­ael Pi­etrus - played against At­lanta.

They were still with­out ail­ing point guard Jameer Nel­son.

The Magic trailed by nine in the fourth quar­ter but closed to 73-70 thanks to Carter's three-point play with 40 sec­onds re­main­ing. -Ap
