High-flying Hawks notch rare NBA win over Magic
ORLANDO, FLORIDA: Josh Smith scored 19 points with 13 rebounds and Mike Bibby made a key three-pointer in the final minute Monday as the Atlanta Hawks downed the Orlando Magic 80-74.
Al Horford added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Hawks, who have won six of their last seven NBA contests.
Jamal Crawford chipped in 15 points and Bibby finished with 13.
The Magic had won seven of their last eight regular-season meetings with Atlanta and 11 of the last 12 overall, including a four-game sweep in last season's playoffs.
Vince Carter led Orlando with 18 points. Orlando star Dwight Howard, back after missing two games with a stomach virus, contributed 14 points and 13 rebounds.
In all, three of the four Orlando players who missed the last two games with stomach flu - Howard, Redick and Mickael Pietrus - played against Atlanta.
They were still without ailing point guard Jameer Nelson.
The Magic trailed by nine in the fourth quarter but closed to 73-70 thanks to Carter's three-point play with 40 seconds remaining. -Ap
