Pak­istan to con­tinue sup­port­ing Kash­miris’ strug­gle: min­is­ter

IS­LAM­ABAD: Min­is­ter for In­for­ma­tion and Broad­cast­ing Qa­mar Za­man Kaira said on Wed­nes­day that Pak­istan would con­tinue its po­lit­i­cal, moral and diplo­matic sup­port for the in­dige­nous free­dom strug­gle of Kash­miris against il­le­gal In­dian oc­cu­pa­tion of the In­dian held Kash­mir.

This, he said, while talk­ing to AJK Min­is­ter for Over­seas, In­for­ma­tion and En­vi­ron­ment Mehmood Riaz who called on him.

Qa­mar Za­man Kaira also con­demned the cow­ardly at­tack on All Par­ties Hur­riyat Con­fer­ence Chair­man Mir­waiz Umar Fa­rooq by ex­trem­ist Hin­dus and added that In­dia can­not crush the in­dige­nous

move­ment of Kash­miri peo­ple for their just right of self-de­ter­mi­na­tion.

Kaira said that by such tac­tics,In­dia was try­ing to give re­li­gious colour to Kash­miris move­ment, but it will not suc­ceed in its ne­far­i­ous de­signs.

The min­is­ter also as­sured the AJK Min­is­ter that Pak­istan govern­ment would con­tinue its sup­port for AJK me­dia devel­op­ment projects.

He also said that steps were be­ing taken to in­crease cov­er­age area of Ra­dio Pak­istan and Pak­istan Tele­vi­sion in Azad Jammu and Kash­mir.

He also said that work on in­stal­la­tion of new boost­ers in AJK would be com­pleted on pri­or­ity ba­sis.

The AJK Min­is­ter Mehmood Riaz thanked the fed­eral min­is­ter for co­op­er­a­tion with the AJK govern­ment in me­dia devel­op­ment process in the state.

Ac­cord­ing to Kash­mir Me­dia Ser­vice, he said the new Is­lamic year re­minded the Mus­lim states of their re­spon­si­bil­i­ties vis-…-vis oc­cu­pied

Mus­lim lands, sub­ju­gated peo­ple and suf­fer­ing hu­man­ity of this planet.

He said that it was the first and fore­most duty of the Or­ga­ni­za­tion of the Is­lamic Con­fer­ence (OIC) to fight for the rights of the Mus­lims and ini­ti­ate nec­es­sary mea­sures to force the United Na­tions Or­ga­ni­za­tion for re­solv­ing all peace-threat­en­ing dis­putes in line with the in­ter­na­tional hu­man rights law and as­pi­ra­tions of the en­slaved peo­ple. Oth­er­wise, he warned, both the UNO and the OIC would lose their im­por­tance to the dis­ad­van­tage of the world peace. -App
