Govt embarks on programme for special children, says CM
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said the government has embarked on programme aimed at providing better opportunities to special and orphan children to take full advantage of their talents. The Chief Minister underlined the need for integrated efforts for better service to orphans and needy children to bring them into national mainstream of life. He expressed the views after inaugurating a newly block at Al-Islah Homes at Sheikh Maltoon Town Mardan constructed at cost of Rs. six million with financial assistance of KPK Government.
"Orphan children need special attention and as such we need to care and nurture them so that they can grow up into responsible adults capable of contributing to national development," said the Chief Minister He said it is for this reason that Government will remain committed to improving the lives of the young ones, especially children with special needs so that they contribute meaningfully to the economic development of the country when they grow up.
Hoti urged philanthropists to donate as much as possible in relief projects of government for better service to orphans, special people and poor at large. The government is well-aware of problems of these children and better education, health and other basic facilities of life would be provided to them.
He said the civil society should also come forward for assistance of orphan and special children. The special children and orphans deserved full support and assistance from every quarters and government will provide all facilities to them despite financial constraints.
The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of management of Al-Islah Centre Mardan for welfare of orphans and children and announced Rs. five million grant for it and assured for its extension. The people who are participating in relief programes are fortunate and appreciated the financial assistance of people contributing for assistance of relief organizations. Special children are an integral part of the society and they are playing important role in progress, prosperity and development of the country. The Chief Minister lauded the role of social and welfare organizations for addressing issues of orphans and vulnerable sections of society. Appreciating the contribution of welfare of orphans, special children and poor, he said the government is serving people without any discrimination and lauded the efforts of Social Welfare Department of Khyber Pakthunkhwa for the same. Senior officials and ANP leaders were also present on this occasion. -App
