Speakers at a workshop urge for providing jobs
ISLAMABAD: The Speakers here Tuesday urged the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and other international and local organizations working in the flood-hit areas for reconstruction and rehabilitation to provide jobs to the locals.
They were speaking in a workshop on "Job-centered crisis recovery and decent work" organized by Pakistan Manpower Institute (PMI), attached department of the Labour Ministry.
They said that during the unprecedented recent flood over 20 million people were displaced across the country but with the help of international community the life of these were restored soon.
Syed Nazr-e-Hyder former Director General of Pakistan Manpower Institute, said that already government is facing unemployment issue but its our collective responsibility to provide jobs in the country.
He said that there is no lack of talent but it is the duty of the government to provide the opportunity to the youth.
Nazr-e-Haider said that in the flood-hit areas important sectors like education and health badly affected. -App
