Speak­ers at a work­shop urge for pro­vid­ing jobs

IS­LAM­ABAD: The Speak­ers here Tues­day urged the Non-Gov­ern­men­tal Or­ga­ni­za­tions (NGOs) and other in­ter­na­tional and lo­cal or­ga­ni­za­tions work­ing in the flood-hit ar­eas for re­con­struc­tion and rehabilitation to pro­vide jobs to the lo­cals.

They were speak­ing in a work­shop on "Job-cen­tered cri­sis re­cov­ery and de­cent work" or­ga­nized by Pak­istan Man­power In­sti­tute (PMI), at­tached depart­ment of the Labour Min­istry.

They said that dur­ing the un­prece­dented re­cent flood over 20 mil­lion peo­ple were dis­placed across the coun­try but with the help of in­ter­na­tional com­mu­nity the life of these were re­stored soon.

Syed Nazr-e-Hy­der for­mer Di­rec­tor Gen­eral of Pak­istan Man­power In­sti­tute, said that al­ready govern­ment is fac­ing un­em­ploy­ment is­sue but its our col­lec­tive re­spon­si­bil­ity to pro­vide jobs in the coun­try.

He said that there is no lack of tal­ent but it is the duty of the govern­ment to pro­vide the op­por­tu­nity to the youth.

Nazr-e-Haider said that in the flood-hit ar­eas im­por­tant sec­tors like ed­u­ca­tion and health badly af­fected. -App
