Need to end domestic violence on women stressed
QUETTA: Balochistan Minister for Women Development Ghazala Gola has emphasized the need to make a mindset of society to ensure end to violence particularly domestic violence on women.
According to a statement issued on Sunday, she said women were an oppressed and downtrodden segment of the society who had been victimized of domestic and other types of violence for years.
She underlined the need to launch efforts to change mindset which caused domestic violence on women.
She said Pakistan People's Party was sincere to take steps to end domestic violence on women adding approval of law on domestic violence was a part of such efforts.
She urged the non-governmental organizations and media persons to highlight law on domestic violence on women as saying it would help in controlling such type of cruelty.
Moreover, Minister for Women Development, Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the government wants that JUI (F) should return and back the government in its efforts to further strengthen the present system.
"Maulana Fazlur Rehman is a seasoned and matured politician.
He should rejoin the coalition and promote politics of consensus which is beauty of the democracy," she said in a TV programme.
The Minister said the reconciliation policy of the government would continue and present political crisis would be over soon.
The present government would complete its tenure and there would be no change because our country cannot afford any instability at this time, Firdous Ashiq said the major parties of the country are in favour that the present democratic system should continue and in this regard she mentioned statement of Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif. Both PML (N) and PPP are committed to solve issues by implementing charter of democracy.
The Minister said, with regard to recent crisis, PPP was consulting its allies on every issue and added that political forces would foil any conspiracy against present democratic system. The Minister said that Pakistan is phasing through critical situating and it is prime responsibility of all political forces to work for the unity of country and curb the undemocratic forces so that their nefarious designs could be foiled. -App
