KPCCI-USAID prepares vision document for industries
PESHAWAR: KhyberPakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) and USAID have prepared a vision document for developing a well diversified industrial and manufacturing base in KP which is not only export oriented but also beneficial for domestic consumers and supporting employment generation.
The vision document was prepared after a detailed discussion among the officials of USAID, Provincial government and business community of the province here at KPCCI on Wednesday. Chairman Industrial Working Group, Nauman Wazir presided the session while president KPCCI, Usman Bilour, Provincial Secretary Industry and leading industrialists of the province were present on the occasion.
During the meeting, detailed discussion was held on potential areas of industrialization in KhyberPakhtunkhwa and measures for removing the hindrances in promotion of commercial activities in the province.
Three working groups was also formed in the session which held detailed discussions on relevant subjects and prepared suggestions for incorporating into the vision. Inputs were also sought from industrialists in their specialized subjects and proposals were noted for necessary action.
Briefing the participants, Chairman Industrial Working Group, Nauman Wazir said the objective behind preparing the vision is to develop industries in the province so that jobs are created and economy is stabilized. He said the province has suffered a lot due to locational disadvantage and militancy.
It is the need of the hour to chalk out a comprehensive and well diversified industrial and production base for making the province prosperous through enhancing commercial activities and creating jobs.
Speaking on the occasion, President KPCCI, Usman Bilour stressed for adopting measures on war footing basis to expedite the pace of industrial development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. -App
