ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that the PPP government is representative of working class and it would protect their rights at all cost.

While delivering his speech as a chief guest at oath-taking ceremony of APP Employees Union here he said, "Struggle for the rights of the working class was, is and will remain the central point of the PPP manifesto". He said after coming into power in March 2008, the PPP has always followed the philosophy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and struggle for workers right will always remain the cornerstone of the party's philosophy. He said that the PPP has always come to power through the power of the masses votes and resolution of people's problems is the central point of it's manifesto.

Kaira said that the government after coming to power had to take some difficult decisions including withdrawal of subsidies on utilities but at the same time during past three years it has given about 110 percent effective increase in the salaries of the government employees as a first initiative. -App
