Plan to en­sure pol­lu­tion free en­vi­ron­ment

MIR­PUR (AJK): In or­der to en­sure pol­lu­tion-free en­vi­ron­ment, AJK govern­ment has im­posed ban on throw­ing garbage at pub­lic places.

Talk­ing to APP on Wed­nes­day the of­fi­cial sources said pro­hibitory or­ders un­der sec­tion 144 to be is­sued soon across AJK. The sources re­vealed that garbage plants and burn­ing units to be in­stalled in all ma­jor cities to en­sure avail­abil­ity of pol­lu­tion-free en­vi­ron­ment.

AJK govern­ment has ear­marked Rs. 250 mil­lion to trans­late the vi­sion of skilled and green Kash­mir. The sources said fed­eral min­istry of en­vi­ron­ment was spend­ing Rs. 110 mil­lion for the re­for­esta­tion of AJK be­sides ini­ti­at­ing nec­es­sary steps to save forests from fire and ero­sion.

"A mega project for sup­ply of hy­gienic fil­tered wa­ter has been launched in some parts of AJK with the fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance of fed­eral govern­ment. The plan in­volves the in­stal­la­tion of wa­ter fil­tra­tion plants at all the union coun­cils in AJK," the sources added. -App
