Pak­istan, Turkey have good ties in all fields

IS­LAM­ABAD: De­fence Min­is­ter Chaudhry Ah­mad Mukhtar has said that the gov­ern­ments and armed forces of Pak­istan and Turkey have good co­op­er­a­tion and un­der­stand­ing in all fields.

Ac­cord­ing to Ra­dio Pak­istan, he said Turkey was a trust­wor­thy friend of Pak­istan, which wanted a de­ci­sive war against ter­ror­ism to se­cure fu­ture gen­er­a­tions and bring peace in the world.

He said Afghanistan and Cen­tral Asian states also wanted to link with train ser­vice of Pak­istan, Iran and Turkey to reach out Europe.

He said Turk­ish forces al­ways sup­ported the Pak­istan Army. While giv­ing prece­dent of mu­tual co­op­er­a­tion be­tween the two coun­tries in re­cent months, Ah­mad Mukhtar said that Turkey pro­vided free of cost guided mis­siles to Pak­istan to fight against ter­ror­ists in Swat.

Re­ply­ing to a ques­tion, he said,"Turk­ish peo­ple love Pak­ista­nis and they want to see Pak­istan a de­vel­oped and ma­jor eco­nomic power". He said that the Turk­ish govern­ment and their armed forces were Pak­istan's trust­wor­thy friend.

Re­ply­ing to an­other ques­tion, De­fence Min­is­ter said Pak­istan was a front­line state against ter­ror­ism. "We are fight­ing this war for own as well as for the world. Pak­istan wants to de­feat ter­ror­ism through de­ci­sive a war".

He said,"we have very good re­la­tions with Turk­ish Pres­i­dent Ab­dul­lah Gul. He al­ways sup­ported Pres­i­dent Asif Ali Zar­dari's idea of mu­tual co­op­er­a­tion to the best level of two broth­erly coun­tries".

He said that the idea of trade by train with the Europe via Pak­istan, Iran and Turkey was orig­i­nally floated by Pres­i­dent Asif Ali Zar­dari.

He said train would take only five days to reach Europe with max­i­mum goods and with less fare. -App
