ISLAMABAD: The assassination of Benazir Bhutto was an unforgettable incident in the history of the country and the political vacuum created will take decades to fill the gap.
Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme Farzana Raja was expressing her views ahead of third anniversary of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to observed on Monday. She said Benazir was well-known respected international political figure for her moderate outlook and visionary ideas. Farzana Raja said Benazir was a beacon of hope for oppressed women of our society, adding she not only condemned violence against women but took practically step for empowering them. "It was her firm belief that no society can make progress without giving equal rights to women". She said that Benazir's lifelong struggle against dictatorship and for revival of democracy gave confidence to women to prove their skills in all walks of life. -App
