Govt to launch CNG buses

IS­LAM­ABAD: Fed­eral Min­is­ter for En­vi­ron­ment Hameed Ul­lah Jan Afridi has said that the govern­ment has in­tro­duced a project of ply­ing CNG buses in all the prov­inces and at­trac­tive in­cen­tives have been of­fered to trans­porters to con­vert their buses on CNG.

Talk­ing to me­di­a­per­sons on Mon­day , Afridi said that these mea­sures would also help con­serve en­ergy and min­i­mize haz­ardous smoke emis­sions in the air, and pro­vide bet­ter trans­port fa­cil­i­ties to the cit­i­zens, said a press re­lease. Afridi said that the govern­ment had also ini­ti­ated an­other pro­gramme of con­vert­ing all Rik­shaws on CNG and al­ter­nate sources of en­ergy. The pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ments had been asked to com­plete this project within five years. He said that the in­creas­ing quan­tum of emis­sions in the air were caus­ing fa­tal ail­ments and also be­com­ing a source of global warm­ing. -App
