Mirza asks police to ensure peace
KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Mirza has directed the Police Department to make elaborate security arrangements on the eve of New Year.
"Strict security arrangements be made particularly in Karachi and Hyderabad," he said here Wednesday.
According to a Home Department statement, the Minister directed
that extra-ordinary security arrangements should be made by the Police Department by fully mobilizing the network of CID, Special Branch, AVCC,
SIU and that a coordination may be also established with the intelligence of Rangers and other agencies.
In the wake of growing threats of terrorism, Mirza directed the Police to ensure peace and protection to the life of the general public and all sensitive places may be provided security cover to prevent any untoward incident. The Minister further urged the masses also to extend a helping hand to the law enforcement agencies to thwart the designs of anti-social elements. -App
