Mirza asks po­lice to en­sure peace

KARACHI: Sindh Home Min­is­ter Dr. Zul­fiqar Ali Mirza has di­rected the Po­lice Depart­ment to make elab­o­rate se­cu­rity ar­range­ments on the eve of New Year.

"Strict se­cu­rity ar­range­ments be made par­tic­u­larly in Karachi and Hyderabad," he said here Wed­nes­day.

Ac­cord­ing to a Home Depart­ment state­ment, the Min­is­ter di­rected

that ex­tra-or­di­nary se­cu­rity ar­range­ments should be made by the Po­lice Depart­ment by fully mo­bi­liz­ing the net­work of CID, Spe­cial Branch, AVCC,

SIU and that a co­or­di­na­tion may be also es­tab­lished with the in­tel­li­gence of Rangers and other agen­cies.

In the wake of grow­ing threats of ter­ror­ism, Mirza di­rected the Po­lice to en­sure peace and pro­tec­tion to the life of the gen­eral pub­lic and all sen­si­tive places may be pro­vided se­cu­rity cover to pre­vent any un­to­ward in­ci­dent. The Min­is­ter fur­ther urged the masses also to ex­tend a help­ing hand to the law en­force­ment agen­cies to thwart the de­signs of anti-so­cial el­e­ments. -App
