NAB approves inquiry against NHA officials
Chairman NAB, Admiral (Retd) Fasih Bokhari presided over the Executive Board meeting and decided to authorise an inquiry in a case against officials of the National Highway Authority (NHA).
The accused persons have been alleged for misuse of authority and violation of PPRA rules in awarding the tender of five Toll Plazas (T/P Iqbal Shaheed, T/P Haro, T/P Mandra, T/P Tarraki and T/P Jhelum). NHA floated tender for its five Toll Plazas in September 2011.
NAB observed that bid- ding process is in violation of Public Procurement Rules (PPRA) and advised NHA under its Prevention Regime to re-tender the award of said Toll Plazas on priority.
National Highway Authority was warned to take measures to ensure transparency and impartiality in the light of PPRA Rules 2004, said a press release issued here on Thursday.
The project for the time being has been halted on the direction of A&P Division and no contract has been awarded as yet. The Board meeting decided to close three inquiries against Abdul Majeed Khan, DIG Police.
