Pak­istan-tur­key en­joy brotherly and friendly ties

Pun­jab Chief Min­is­ter Muham­mad Shah­baz Sharif has said that Pak­istan and Tur­key en­joy brotherly and friendly re­la­tions and, as a re­sult of ef­forts by the Pun­jab gov­ern­ment, mu­tual ties be­tween the two coun­tries are tak­ing the form of eco­nomic co­op­er­a­tion.

He said the peo­ple of Tur­key have a great af­fec­tion for Pak­ista­nis and it would not be wrong to say that Pak­istan and Tur­key are two coun­tries but one na­tion.

He said there is a strong bond of mu­tual love and brother­hood be­tween both the coun­tries which is re­flected by the de­ci­sion of Turk­ish busi­ness­men and gov­ern­ment au­thor­i­ties to cel­e­brate Eid with their flood af­fected Pak­istani brethren.

Muham­mad Shah­baz Sharif said that the ef­forts of Turk­ish Am­bas­sador Mustafa Babur Hi­zlans to fur­ther mutu- al ties be­tween Pak­istan and Tur­key are highly com­mend­able.

The Chief Min­is­ter was ad­dress­ing foun­da­tion-stone lay­ing cer­e­mony of a new school un­der the aus­pices of Pak-Turk In­ter­na­tional Schools and Col­leges Sys­tem at Khaya­ban-e-Amin, here to­day.

The cer­e­mony was at­tended by Turk­ish Am­bas­sador Mustafa Babur Hi­zlan, Pro­vin­cial Ed­u­ca­tion Min­is­ter, Mu­jtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, assem­bly mem­bers, Chair­man Pak-Turk Ed­u­ca­tion Foun­da­tion, Onal Ta­sur, Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Sahir As­so­ci­ates Sahir Rasheed and a large num­ber of peo­ple of the area.

Ad­dress­ing the cer­e­mony, the Chief Min­is­ter Muham­mad Shah­baz Sharif said that it is a mat­ter of hon­our for him to at­tend the foun­da­tion-stone lay­ing cer­e­mony of the new school un­der Pak-Turk School Sys­tem.

He ob­served Pak-Turk Ed­u­ca­tion Foun­da­tion is play­ing a sig­nif­i­cant role in the pro­mo­tion of qual­ity ed­u­ca­tion in Pak­istan and im­part­ing mod­ern knowl­edge to the younger gen­er­a­tion.

He said de­vel­op­ment projects, worth over ru­pees 50 bil­lion are be­ing ex­pe­di­tiously com­pleted through col­lab­o­ra­tion be­tween Pun­jab gov­ern­ment and Turk­ish com­pa­nies out of which metro bus project is that de­vel­op­ment project which is unique in the trans­port his­tory of Pak­istan.

He said metro bus sys­tem is aimed at wel­fare of the com­mon man which would soon be com­pleted. He said those who crit­i­cize pub­lic wel­fare projects, have no in­ter­est in solv­ing prob­lems of the masses. Muham­mad Shah­baz Sharif said that if serv­ing the poor is a crime he would com­mit the same crime a thou­sand times.

He said we would have to pro­mote our own re­sources to achieve dig­nity and re­spect in the world.
