Pakistan-turkey enjoy brotherly and friendly ties
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan and Turkey enjoy brotherly and friendly relations and, as a result of efforts by the Punjab government, mutual ties between the two countries are taking the form of economic cooperation.
He said the people of Turkey have a great affection for Pakistanis and it would not be wrong to say that Pakistan and Turkey are two countries but one nation.
He said there is a strong bond of mutual love and brotherhood between both the countries which is reflected by the decision of Turkish businessmen and government authorities to celebrate Eid with their flood affected Pakistani brethren.
Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the efforts of Turkish Ambassador Mustafa Babur Hizlans to further mutu- al ties between Pakistan and Turkey are highly commendable.
The Chief Minister was addressing foundation-stone laying ceremony of a new school under the auspices of Pak-Turk International Schools and Colleges System at Khayaban-e-Amin, here today.
The ceremony was attended by Turkish Ambassador Mustafa Babur Hizlan, Provincial Education Minister, Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, assembly members, Chairman Pak-Turk Education Foundation, Onal Tasur, Chief Executive Sahir Associates Sahir Rasheed and a large number of people of the area.
Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that it is a matter of honour for him to attend the foundation-stone laying ceremony of the new school under Pak-Turk School System.
He observed Pak-Turk Education Foundation is playing a significant role in the promotion of quality education in Pakistan and imparting modern knowledge to the younger generation.
He said development projects, worth over rupees 50 billion are being expeditiously completed through collaboration between Punjab government and Turkish companies out of which metro bus project is that development project which is unique in the transport history of Pakistan.
He said metro bus system is aimed at welfare of the common man which would soon be completed. He said those who criticize public welfare projects, have no interest in solving problems of the masses. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that if serving the poor is a crime he would commit the same crime a thousand times.
He said we would have to promote our own resources to achieve dignity and respect in the world.
