PRIME MINISTER Raja Parvez Ashraf has vowed to address Balochistan’s issue through collective wisdom and the dialogue process while inaugurating several development projects including Civic Center and East Bay Expreessway in Gawadar‚ adding that the present democratic government has taken several steps to remove the sense of deprivation of Balochi people but a lot more needs to be done in this regard. He said the apology tendered by President Asif Zardari to the Baloch people is a clear manifestation that the government is alive to the situation in Balochistan.

The comments of Prime Minister signal that the government is serious in solving the issues of Balochistan as it is facing insurgency. The issue is aggravating day by day amid the incompetency of Provincial Chief Minister Aslam Raisani, who still claims that situation in Balochistan is under control. Killing of Hazaras in on the rise and settlers have been either killed or compelled to leave the province. Quetta’s Saryab road sees regular incident of terror. Moreover on Friday Member National Assembly Mir Ahmadan Bugti along with several other people were injured in an explosion in Dera Bugti district. The situation seems very grave and now it is time both the federal and provincial governments should are strive for restoration of peace as well as development of Balochistan. Moreover the judiciary and Pakistan Army should play their vital role for the security and development of the country. Notably the chief justice has done a remarkable job in missing person case in which the provincial government’s incompetency was flayed for not restoring the writ of the government. Pak Army in general and FC in particular should play its due responsibility by proving innocence in missing persons row. Army should stop the infiltration and escape of terrorist to Afghanistan as terrorist often escape to Qandhar after perpetrating terror activities.

Moreover, besides government, all political parties especially PML-N leadership should use all out efforts to bring the angry Baloch leaders to table. PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif has the potential to turn the table in favour of the country which will be good omen for the prosperity of the country.
