NBP president urged to accept overdue demands of staff
Employee’s body asks for restoration of insurance, frozen leaves, revocation of appraisal system, fulfillment of COD
National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Trade Unions Federation has urged bank president to order his team to accept employees long overdue demands.
“We have been writing letters to the president Qamar Hussain throughout his tenure as NBP president but we have received no positive response from his side. On October 31 also we have written letter to the president as reminder to order his team to implement decided demands,” the NBP employees body said other day.
The federation have been urging the bank management to appoint retired and deceased workers’ children in the bank, give job to the legal hires of the employees who expired during their services and regularise the staff in accordance with the Supreme Court order who could not be regularised due to the sluggishness of the branch managers and regional heads. The federation has also been demanding to increase clerical and non-clerical staff education allowance to Rs 7000, appoint new cashiers countrywide to meet to the requirement of qualitative services for the bank customers.
The NBP trade Unions’ Federation has also been demanding the bank management to allo- cate 12 per cent BESOS share to the employees, allow medical facility for the staff who opted VHS/ GHS pension benefits for the staff who were regularized during 2003 to 2008, investigate performance awards and increase officers’ salaries who are at maximum for two years.
Similarly the federation asked the bank to pay retirement benefits to the staff and offices equal to executives and increase staff petrol seal-lings TA/.DAs and commuted pensions. The Federation also demanded that the bank should pay group insurance, frozen leaves upon the staff retirement, revoke appraisal system and accept other demands written in the Charted of Demands.
