Lawyers to hold protest demonstration
Federal Courts Lawyers Forum secretary general Zahoor Taga has announced hold protest demonstration if the federal government does not appoint judges at the banking and other courts at the building.
Taga said we will hold protest taking up the roads to impress upon the government to provide judges at the federal Courts at the earliest. Unavailability of the judges at the Federal Courts is a routine matter. The concerned authorities have so many times been informed about the important issue of the non availability of judges.
Earlier the government was appointing retired judges who used to spend long time here. But since the government has been appointing in service judges, the issue has aggravated, Taga said.
Three Banking Courts at the Federal Courts have been working without judges and the government has transferred the only Judge Amjad Pervaiz from the Federal Court and the four banking courts are working without any judge.
Out of four banking courts at the Federal Courts three have been working without judge for the one month. Sources disclosed that absence of judges had precluded implementation on the case in which decrees has been issued.
Both complainants and lawyers have been facing troubles in the absence of judges. He said that Federal Courts Lawyers Forum was holding an urgent meeting of the lawyers to evolve a comprehensive strategy as to how the presence of judges could be made possible in this respect.
He said that Chief Justice Lahore High Court Umar Atta Bandial is visiting Federal Courts today and the federal Courts Lawyers Forum would take up the issue of unavailability of judges at the banking and other courts with the CJ.
Taga said that unavailability of Judges at the banking courts have posed serious problems to both complainants and the lawyers due to which number cases are increasing on daily basis.
He urged the government to make permanent arrangement for the availability of judges at the federal courts or they will take their own decision.
