Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed concerned departments to remove hurdles in the way of early completion of Metro Bus Project. "All construction work should be completed within stipulated period as no compromise will be made on the timeline given to the contractors," he added.

Presiding over a meeting to review the pace of construction work on Metro Bus Project at Chief Minister's Secretariat on Monday, he said the work on Metro Bus Project should be accelerated with a missionary spirit. He said that 11 parks and ride stations would be set up on the route of Metro Bus Service. Issuing instructions to provide complete security at parks and ride stations, he said that every moment was precious and all out resources should be utilized for the early completion of project.

He said, the government was fully aware of the problems being faced by citizens due to the construction work. Taking notice of the non-completion of work by contractors on some sections, he directed that more labour and machinery should be employed and the work should be completed within the timeline as there was no room for delay in the completion of the project.
