Mushar­raf sees con­spir­acy against army

For­mer Pres­i­dent Gen­eral (re­tired) Pervez Mushar­raf has said that a con­spir­acy has been hatched against the army based on the fact, "If you want to weaken Pak­istan then weaken the army and this is what hap­pen­ing now.

In an in­ter­view to British Ra­dio, Gen­eral ( re­tired) Pervez Mushar­raf said that he dur­ing his ten­ure had or­dered the in­tel­li­gence agen­cies to keep them­selves aloof from pol­i­tics and added we had de­cided that se­cret agen­cies must not in­dulge/in­ter­fere in pol­i­tics.

Re­spond­ing to a ques­tion re­lat­ing to the reg­is­tra­tion of cases and in­ves­ti­ga­tions against the army, he said that a con­spir­acy was be­ing hatched against the army based on the fact that if you want to weaken Pak­istan then weaken the army and this is what hap­pen­ing now. Mushar­raf said US drone strikes mostly killed ter­ror­ists in tribal ar­eas adding some from the gen­eral pub­lic also fallen vic­tim to it, but their num­ber was be­ing ex­ag­ger­ated.
