5 more killed in Karachi

As tar­get killings does not seem to spare the cit­i­zens, five per­sons lost their lives in the on-go­ing spate of vi­o­lence in the fi­nan­cial hub since morn­ing, Geo News re­ported Wed­nes­day.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, un­known gun­men killed Ghu­lam Muham­mad in Sul­tan­abad area of Manghopir who was the res­i­dent of Kotri.

Sai­ful­lah was tar­geted and killed in Ko­rangi C area by uniden­ti­fied at­tack­ers while at the same time, Qari Muham­mad Im­ran was also gunned down at Nishtar Road in Jamshed Quar­ter area. Both the vic­tims were be­lieved to be the mem­bers of the same reli­gious group. Ten­sion has gripped the ar­eas ad­join­ing Teen Hati, Las­bela and Ja­hangir Road while the traf­fic po­lice has ad­vised the com­muters to take al­ter­nate routes.

In the wee hours of Wed­nes­day morn­ing, two per­sons were killed in New Karachi and and Orangi Town.

Po­lice said a man was shot dead near Bashir Chowk in New Karachi. The iden­tity of the de­ceased could not be as­cer­tained.
