Karachi sit­u­a­tion will im­prove in a few days, PM as­sures MQM

IS­LAM­ABAD: Prime Min­is­ter Raja Pervez Ashraf has as­sured the MQM that the gov­ern­ment is tak­ing all nec­es­sary steps for restor­ing peace in Karachi and the sit­u­a­tion would im­prove in a few days.

The prime min­is­ter met a del­e­ga­tion of the MQM com­pris­ing of Babar Ghauri, Wassem Akhtar, Ab­dul Qadir Khan­zada and Asif Has­nain. The del­e­ga­tion ap­prised the prime min­is­ter about the sit­u­a­tion in Karachi. Prime Min­is­ter Ashraf in­formed the del­e­ga­tion that he had di­rected Chief Min­is­ter Sindh Qaim Ali Shah to utilise all re­sources in restor­ing peace in Karachi. Sources add that a del­e­ga­tion of the MQM is also expected to meet Pres­i­dent Asif Ali Zar­dari on Thurs­day evening.
