The two-day regional business conference of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) concluded here today with a consensus to share viable ideas, knowledge and strengths of the organization with provincial governments as well as international development agencies for promotion of the SME sector in the country.

Commenting on recommendations of the RBCs, SMEDA Chief Executive Officer hief took a number of prompt decisions and advised them to strengthen their networking with business community as well as the public sector organizations working for economic development in four provinces of the country.

He especially emphasized to evolve joint ventures with provincial government of Baluchistan so as to boost up the economic activity in the province. He approved to set focus of the current year’s initiatives on development of micro and small enterpises so as to encourage the lower and middle class entrepreneurs to become active part of the economy. The pre-feasibility studies and business plans to be developed this year should primarily cover micro and small scale businesses, he added and also advised to draw attention of the international donor agencies like USAID, World Bank and UNIDO towards the province of Baluchistan like it has been done in Khyber Phakhtoon Khawa.
