Poverty can be erad­i­cated through Za­kat, Usher

Act­ing Pres­i­dent of the In­ter­na­tional Is­lamic Univer­sity, Is­lam­abad (IIUI) Dr. Sahibzada Sa­jid ur Rehman, has said that poverty can be erad­i­cated in a very short span of time through im­ple­ment­ing the sys­tem of Za­kat and Usher in true spirit, as it hap­pened dur­ing the time of Rightly Guided Caliphs.

Dr. Sa­jid ur Rehman said that Is­lam dis­tri­bu­tion of wealth and made sure its con­tin­u­ous cir­cu­la­tion through the obli­ga­tion of Za­kat,Ushr and other com­pul­sory char­i­ties.

He was ad­dress­ing to the in­au­gu­ral cer­e­mony of the 3day event on ' Women Model United Nations ( IMUN)' or­ga­nized by the Fac­ulty of Man­age­ment Sciences ( FMS) of the In­ter­na­tional Is­lamic Univer­sity, Is­lam­abad ( IIUI) from Novem­ber 16 to Novem­ber 18, in which the students of 25 univer­sity of the Pak­istan are par­tic­i­pat­ing.

He said the char­ter of the United Na­tion is very use­ful for peace­ful co-ex­is­tence of the hu­man­ity and it is the pi­o­neer of hu­man rights in the present day, how­ever, it should be clear that these rights were not given by the United Na­tion for the first time in the his­tory as these are es­sen­tial part and par­cel of the Is­lamic creed taught and guar­an­teed by the Qu­ran and Sun­nah of our beloved Prophet (PBUH).

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) re­served the rights of all liv­ing crea­tures for the first time in the his­tory of hu­man be­ings and holy prophet (PBUH) com­manded that it is the duty of each Mus­lim, male and fe­male, to ac­quire knowl­edge.

He urged the UN to ini­ti­ate se­ri­ous ef­forts to re­solve the long ig­nored un­set­tled is­sues of Kash­mir and Pales­tine so that the world can be­come a bet­ter place to live for all. Dr. Mazhar Awan, Di­rec­tor Alumni Af­fairs, United States Ed­u­ca­tion

Foun­da­tion in Pak­istan (USEFP) was the chief guest on the oc­ca­sion.

It was the first ever event of its na­ture or­ga­nized by the students of the univer­sity in which the students will be in­formed from the struc­ture and busi­ness of the United Na­tion Or­ga­ni­za­tion (UNO).

Za­far Baigh, Prin­ci­pal Ad­vi­sor, USEFP, Dr. Mu­naza Yaqoob, IIUI, Dr. Bashir Khan, Dean FMS ,IIUI, Dr. Tas­neem Fa­tima, Act­ing Chair­per­son FMS, IIUI, Amna Baigh, Pres­i­dent WMUN and Kash­mala Ki­ran, Vice Pres­i­dent WMUN also ad­dressed on the oc­ca­sion and high­lighted the im­por­tance of the event.
