Maq­bool re­tains squash ti­tle

The UAE's No. 1 squash player for the last decade, 24year-old Adil Maq­bool, com­pleted an im­pres­sive dou­ble in the sec­ond edi­tion of the re­cently con­cluded A2 Squash Cham­pi­onship Se­ries, held last week at the Lakes Club in Dubai, ac­cord­ing to a me­dia re­ports.

Adil, sup­ported by Sa­hara Group, proved his dom­i­nance by coming back from a two games to one deficit to over­come the UAE No. 2, Aamir Khan from Abu Dhabi in five games.

The ex­pe­ri­enced player, who also won the in­au­gu­ral A2 Squash Cham­pi­onship Se­ries Open in June this year, later part­nered his fa­ther­cum-coach Khawaja Maq­bool to carry home the pro­fes­sional dou­bles ti­tle too.

With the Abu Dhabi Open and the first A2 Open Cham­pi­onship un­der his belt, Adil, former World No. 66 and cur­rent 130, took his third ti­tle of the year in a very en­ter­tain­ing and fast­paced five set­ter against Aamir Khan, who was the fi­nal­ist in the other two events as well.
