Ready for any US sanc­tions, says Dr Asim

Not with­stand­ing any pres­sure, Pres­i­dent Asif Ali Zar­dari and his Ira­nian coun­ter­part Mah­mood Ah­mdi Nisad will sign agree­ment on Mon­day for lay­ing the gas pipe­line be­tween the two coun­tries.

This was stated by Ad­vi­sor on Pe­tro­leum Dr. Asim Hus­sain while talk­ing to the me­dia in Is­lam­abad.

He said Pak-Iran Gas Pipe­line project is in­evitable to meet our en­ergy needs and it will be com­pleted at all cost.

He said the government will im­ple­ment this project de­spite in­ter­na­tional pres­sures. He said we are ready to face any form of US sanc­tions in this re­gard. Dr. Asim said an agree­ment to set up an oil re­fin­ery at Gwadar with a ca­pac­ity to pro­duce 4 hun­dred thou­sand tons oil daily will also be signed on the oc­ca­sion.
