Punjab government survived due to Musharraf's support: Kaira

The Pak Banker - - NATIONAL -

Former federal information minister and PPP leader, Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira has said that Punjab government survived due to support of associates of former President Musharraf.

During his talks with a private TV channel, he quoted opposition leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan's statement that associates of former President Pervez Musharraf were also supporting PML-N: "did this imply that Punjab government survived with Musharraf's support?" he quizzed.

He also expressed strong reservations over impartiality of Justice (Retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid, who had been nominated by PML-N for the post of caretaker Prime Minister; since the killing of Nasir's brother-inlaw had been blamed on President Zardari. "If Nasir Aslam Zahid is to be made a Prime Minister, PML-N might as well support his success in general elections", he demand- ed. " While another PML-N nominee for caretaker Prime Minister, Rasool Bakhsh Palejo's son Ayaz Latif Palejo was PPP's bitter rival in Sindh", he said, (also) rejecting Rasool Bakhsh Palejo's nomination by PML-N.
