‘Power to be transferred from one civilian govt to another’
Ch Pervez Elahi has expressed great pride that for the first time in Pakistan' history power will be transferred from one civilian govt to another civilian govt.
Talking to the visiting Britain High Commissioner Adam Thomson and UK Aid Member Tom Owens, who called on PML-Q president Senator Ch Shujat Hussain and president PML Punjab Ch Pervez Elahi at their residence here Tuesday, Pervez Elahi also impressed that "we have played our role for strengthening of democracy; because of this today roots of democracy in Pakistan are becoming stronger". The British High Commissioner said free, fair and acceptable electoral process elections being held timely in Pakistan were important for future relations between two countries. He also expressed Britain's willingness to work with any govt to be established in Pakistan after the free elections, saying that European Union wanted to bring its observers for elections in Pakistan and Britain will also fully participate.
