Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that forthcoming general elections are extremely significant for the bright future of the country. He hoped that 11th May would dawn with the victory of 18 crore people of Pakistan, whose hopes are now linked with Pakistan Muslim League- N.

He said the right decision of the people on May 11th would put the country on the right path. He said that the whole nation knows PML-N has sincerely served the people with dedication and commitment and laid the foundation of a real change in the Punjab province, which has raised the standard of living of the people. He said that those who claim to bring about change should realize that change does not come through hollow slogans and jugglery, as one has to really work hard to bring about real change in the society. He asked where these claimants of change and revolution were, when the nation was drowned in floods.

Shahbaz said that he has full faith the people would bring forth only sin- cere and honest leadership in general elections, which will put the country on the road to progress and prosperity.

The Chief Minister expressed these views while talking to senior leaders and office-bearers of PML-N from various districts. Shahbaz Sharif said Punjab government has successfully completed journey of progress and prosperity in the province, which is unprecedented in the 65 years’ history of the country, despite massive opposition by former federal government. He said Punjab government introduced revolutionary reform programmes in education, health, infrastructure, livestock, industry, agricul- ture and other sectors which have produced encouraging results. He said Daanish schools, have been established in far-flung and downtrodden areas of the province to provide quality education to the children of lessprivileged and poor families. He said Punjab government has ensured complete implementation of merit policy in the province and no teacher was recruited without merit. He said the youth have been encouraged through revolutionary programmes like Daanish schools, Punjab Educational Endowment Fund, Education Foundation’s voucher scheme, green tractors scheme.
