ECP forms 400 teams to mon­i­tor par­ties' ex­penses

The Elec­tion Com­mis­sion of Pak­istan (ECP) has con­sti­tuted 400 teams to mon­i­tor elec­tion ex­penses of can­di­dates and par­ties. An Elec­tion Com­mis­sion spokesman said on Fri­day that the scru­tiny cell es­tab­lished by the com­mis­sion is work­ing round-the-clock.

He said the ECP has scru­ti­nized 203 nom­i­na­tion pa­pers out of 1‚402 can­di­dates re­ceived from coun­try­wide so far.

He said around 40 can­di­dates of dif­fer­ent po­lit­i­cal par­ties have submitted their nom­i­na­tion pa­pers for two con­stituen­cies of fed­eral cap­i­tal. It is per­ti­nent to men­tion here that af­ter nec­es­sary train­ing‚ the teams con­sist­ing of pho­tog­ra­phers and district elec­tion of­fi­cials will start work­ing from Mon­day. They will also make video footage of pub­lic meet­ings.
