Suicide attack on FC Commandant kills 6, injuries 11 persons
A deadly suicide attack on the convey of Commandant Frontier Constabulary (FC) on Fakhar e Alam Road in Peshawar cantonment here Friday left six persons dead and 11 injured including Five FC personnel.
According to Police, a suicide bomber targeted the convey of Frontier Constabulary that was escorting Commandant FC Abdul Majeed Marwat near Green Shadi Hall close to a security check post on busy Fakhr e Alam Road where banks, trade and commercial buildings are located.
The explosion occurred just after the vehicle of the Commandant passed through the area and he was narrowly escaped.
As result of huge blast, six persons including two women were killed on the spot and 11 others injured including five FC personnel who were admitted in Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar.
Those killed include, Anees Khan son of Isha Khan aged 35 resident of Mashokagar Peshawar, Manzoor Hussain son of Ghulam Bahadar aged 35 resident of Qaidabad Kakshal Peshawar, Alamzaib son of Shamsher Khan resident of Landi Arbab Peshawar while identity of two women and a man could not be identified.
The injured identified are Rawais Khan, Amir son of Nisar resident of Dalazak Road Peshawar, Samiullah son of Rafiullah resident of Mian Gujar Peshawar, Zahir son of Sher Qadir resident of Miran Shah North Waziristan Agency, Arshad (FC) resident of Hangu, Irfan Abbas son of Mir Abbas resident of Mathani (FC), Jandad son of Ibad Sher resident of Tilaband Peshawar (FC), Rehman Saeed son of Subhan Gul resident of Karak (FC) and Shah Khalid son of Noor Badeen resident of Shabqadar Charsadda.
Emergency has been enforced in Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar. Soon after the incident, the security forces cordoned off the area and started search operation.
It may be recalled that few meters away of the spot of today suicide attack, FC commandant Sifawat Ghayoor was also killed in a suicide hit in the past.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engr Shaukatullah Khan here Friday strongly condemned suicide attack on the convey of Frontier Constabulary's Commandant, Abdul Majeed Marwat and said elements involved in such inhuman acts would not escaped from clutches of law.
In a message here, the Governor paid glowing tributes to officers and jawans of security forces for performing their duties with great valor and courage, adding their sacrifices would be remembered for long.
He thanked Allah Almighty for saving the FC Commandant in the suicide attack and paid him best wishes.
The Governor said such coward attacks could not shake the resolve and determination of the Government and nation in fight against militancy and terrorism. He expressed profound grief and sorrow over human losses in this gory incident, adding their heirs are not alone in this hour of grief and sorrow and the whole nation is with them in this hour of trial. They prayed for early recovery of the victims and eternal peace of the deceased.
