Mamoon urges busi­ness­men to help at­tract for­eign in­vest­ment

Pres­i­dent Mam­noon Hus­sain Fri­day stress­ing im­por­tance of busi­ness com­mu­nity in na­tional econ­omy urged them to com­ple­ment govern­ment's ef­forts by help­ing at­tract for­eign and do­mes­tic in­vest­ment in the coun­try.

Talk­ing to a del­e­ga­tion of Pak­istan - Saudi Joint Cham­ber of Com­merce and In­dus­try (PSJCCI) here at the Ai­wan-eSadr, the Pres­i­dent un­der­scored im­por­tant role of the en­trepreneurs in the on­go­ing eco­nomic turn­around of the coun­try.

He called upon them to step up ef­forts and com­ple­ment govern­ment's ini­tia­tives to fully ex­ploit the geo-strate­gic lo­ca­tion of the coun­try and ben­e­fit from the trade con­ces­sions of­fered to the coun­try. He also men­tioned the lib­eral in­cen­tive pack­ages be­ing of­fered by the govern­ment to at­tract for­eign and do­mes­tic in­vest­ment in di­verse fields.

The del­e­ga­tion of Pak­istan - Saudi Joint Cham­ber of Com­merce and In­dus­try led by its Pres­i­dent Mian Mehmood in­cluded Mian Muham­mad Hanif Se­nior Vice Pres­i­dent, Nau­man K.Dar Vice Pres­i­dent, Sar­dar Tan­veer Iyas Khan, Vice Pres­i­dent, Khalid Firoz Vice Pres­i­dent, Muham­mad Ajaz Ma­lik Founder Di­rec­tor and Dir. Fi­nance, Mian Muham­mad Ah­mad Founder Di­rec­tor, Mian Waqqar Aziz Founder Di­rec­tor and Ad­nan Ah­mad As­sis­tant Sec­re­tary Gen­eral.

The Pres­i­dent con­grat­u­lated the first cab­i­net meet­ing of the Pak­istan Saudi Joint Cham­ber of Com­merce and In­dus­try since its es­tab­lish­ment in Novem­ber last year. He ex­pressed the hope that Pak­istan - Saudi Joint Cham­ber of Com­merce and In­dus­try would play an im­por­tant role to fur­ther aug­ment Pak­istan - Saudi trade and in­vest­ment ties and ex­plor­ing new av­enues of trade be­tween the two coun­tries.

The Cham­ber would help bring the cham­bers of com­merce and in­dus­try of the two coun­tries fur­ther closer, the Pres­i­dent said and urged its of­fice bear­ers to fo­cus on in­creas­ing Pak­istan's ex­ports to Saudi Ara­bia as the King­dom was amongst the top 10 ma­jor ex­port des­ti­na­tions of Pak­istan.

Com­ment­ing on var­i­ous chal­lenges con­fronting the busi­ness com­mu­nity, the Pres­i­dent said the govern­ment was fully alive to the prob­lems and con­cerns of the busi­ness­men and all pos­si­ble steps were be­ing taken to pro­vide an en­abling and con­ducive en­vi­ron­ment for trade and in­vest­ment in the coun­try.

Re­fer­ring to the re­cent turn­around of the econ­omy, the Pres­i­dent said that due to cor­rec­tive mea­sures and poli­cies of the govern­ment, eco­nomic in­di­ca­tors were show­ing pos­i­tive signs and the con­fi­dence of both do­mes­tic and for­eign in­vestors to in­vest in Pak­istan is also be­ing re­stored.

The Pres­i­dent said the govern­ment was re­cep­tive to the in­valu­able sug­ges­tions of the busi­ness com­mu­nity and urged them to come for­ward and share their ideas and sug­ges­tions with the govern­ment for eco­nomic growth and sta­bil­ity.

Pres­i­dent Pak­istan - Saudi Joint Cham­ber of Com­merce and In­dus­try Mian Mehmood ap­prised the Pres­i­dent about es­tab­lish­ment, ob­jec­tives and achieve­ments of the Pak- Saudi Joint Cham­ber of Com­merce an In­dus­try and said the Cham­ber has been es­tab­lished with the sole ob­jec­tive to in­crease bi­lat­eral trade and com­merce be­tween the two broth­erly coun­tries through en­hanced in­ter­ac­tion and co­op­er­a­tion of the busi­ness com­mu­ni­ties.
