Min­is­ter for Fi­nance, Muham­mad Ishaq Dar here on Sun­day di­rected the Eco­nomic Af­fairs Di­vi­sion (EAD) for ex­pe­dit­ing work on its China Pak­istan Eco­nomic Cor­ri­dor (CPEC) re­lated projects. The min­is­ter chaired a meet­ing to re­view the im­por­tant eco­nomic projects un­der the aegis of EAD. Sec­re­tary EAD, Saleem Sethi gave a de­tail up­date about fi­nanc­ing ar­range­ments of re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion of TDPs, said a state­ment.

The min­is­ter on this oc­ca­sion re­ferred to re­cent agree­ment signed with China on award of spe­cial grant of US$ 10 mil­lion, sup­port­ing Pak­istan Gov­ern­ment in re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion of res­i­dent in FATA and pro­mot­ing so­cial de­vel­op­ment in the area. Ishaq Dar also em­pha­sized proper uti­liza­tion of these of these funds and­said that the gov­ern­ment was deeply fo­cused on re­set­tle­ment of TDPs. He said that all pos­si­ble ef­forts needed to be made in this re­gard. The min­is­ter also sought de­tails about projects and pro­grammes that EAD en­vis­aged to be im­ple­mented in FATA with the as­sis­tance of Chi­nese gov­ern­ment.
