Afridi ad­dresses Sar­fraz drop­ping con­tro­versy


Pak­istan's T20 skip­per Shahid Afridi ad­dressed the con­tro­versy sur­round­ing Sar­fraz Ahmed be­ing dropped from the squad for the T20 se­ries against Sri Lanka.

Dur­ing a news con­fer­ence for his char­ity or­gan­i­sa­tion, Afridi praised Sar­fraz as a brave crick­eter who could play for him at any po­si­tion. Afridi told re­porters that this was the time for Pak­istan to experiment be­fore the T20 World Cup.

"I had said from be­fore that we want to ex­per­mi­ment." Re­spond­ing fur­ther Shahid Afridi said Pak­istan wanted strong play­ers on the open­ing and one down po­si­tion.

Ear­lier, Pak­istan Cricket Board (PCB) has sought clar­i­fi­ca­tion from Shahid Afridi over the de­ci­sion to drop Sar­fraz Ahmed for the T20 se­ries against Sri Lanka. Ques­tions have been raised over T20 skip­per Afridi's de­ci­sion to drop wick­et­keeper Sar­fraz Ahmed who also serves as his vice-cap­tain on the squad.
