‘CPEC to usher in new era of de­vel­op­ment’

Pres­i­dent Mam­noon Hus­sain says econ­omy of the coun­try has im­proved con­sid­er­ably as a re­sult of pru­dent poli­cies adopted by the present gov­ern­ment.

Ad­dress­ing the con­vo­ca­tion cer­e­mony of In­sti­tute of Space Tech­nol­ogy (IST) in Is­lam­abad on Thurs­day, he said in­ter­na­tional fi­nan­cial in­sti­tu­tions have rec­og­nized the im­prove­ment of Pak­istan's econ­omy.

The Pres­i­dent said the Gov­ern­ment has started a num­ber of mega de­vel­op­ment projects. He said China Pak­istan Eco­nomic Cor­ri­dor is an im­por­tant pro­ject which will gen­er­ate eco­nomic ac­tiv­i­ties and huge job op­por­tu­ni­ties. He said projects un­der CPEC will usher in a new era of de­vel­op­ment and pros­per­ity.

The Pres­i­dent said ship build­ing in­dus­try will also be es­tab­lished and a num­ber of energy projects will be com­pleted un­der the Cor­ri­dor. He said that Gwadar Deep Sea Port will be made com­pletely op­er­a­tional which will be most im­por­tant port of the re­gion.

Mam­noon Hus­sain ap­pre­ci­ated the In­sti­tute of Space Tech­nol­ogy for its re­search in space tech­nol­ogy and said it is be­ing rec­og­nized at in­ter­na­tional level. The Pres­i­dent gave away de­grees and medals to the pass­ing out stu­dents in var­i­ous dis­ci­plines.
