Aus­tralia to help women en­trepreneurs

Se­nior Trade Com­mis­sioner of Aus­tralian Trade Com­mis­sion Ni­cola Watkin­son has said that Aus­tralia is keen to em­power women en­trepreneurs of Pak­istan so that they can play ac­tive role in eco­nomic up­lift of the coun­try.

She said that em­pow­er­ment of women al­ways has a very pos­i­tive im­pact on the so­ci­ety and the is­sue can­not be em­pha­sized more.

Talk­ing to Sam­ina Fazil, founder pres­i­dent IWCCI, Zakia Hashmi, Pres­i­dent IWCCI and oth­ers, she said that Aus­tralia will ex­tend all pos­si­ble sup­port to the del­e­ga­tion of ar­ti­sans be­ing sent there by TDAP.

Ni­cola Watkin­son said that chances of co­op­er­a­tion be­tween fash­ion in­dus­tries of both coun­tries are very bright and re­lated peo­ple from Aus­tralia would be sent to Pak­istan to ap­prise lo­cal in­dus­try of the trends in Aus­tralia. She said that women em­pow­er­ment ini­tia­tives un­der­taken by the Pak­istani gov­ern­ment have sent very pos­i­tive sig­nals around world. Em­pow­er­ing women will help im­prove qual­ity of life of peo­ple by re­duc­ing poverty in Pak­istan, she said, adding that we aim at strength­en­ing en­tre­pre­neur­ial and tech­ni­cal skills of women so that they can be­come more com­pet­i­tive.
