China as­sures Pak­istan for timely com­ple­tion of energy projects

LA­HORE: Punjab Chief Min­is­ter Muham­mad Shah­baz Sharif has said Pak-China Eco­nomic Fo­rum is joint vi­sion of the lead­er­ship of both the coun­tries.

Ad­dress­ing meet­ing of Chi­nese en­trepreneurs in Bei­jing, he said visit of the Chi­nese pres­i­dent to Pak­istan has given a mes­sage to the whole world that no­body can pay harm to the Pak-China friend­ship. Ear­lier, in his meet­ing with of­fi­cials of Si­nosure Power Com­pany in Bei­jing, he said he wants com­ple­tion of the power pro­ject of five thou­sand megawatt elec­tric­ity by the end of 2017. The Chi­nese of­fi­cials as­sured him for the timely com­ple­tion of energy projects.

Mean­while, China has shown in­ter­est in con­struct­ing as many as eight power projects on River Sindh that will pro­duce at least 35,000 Mega Watt (MW) elec­tric­ity. Chi­nese power com­pany's del­e­ga­tion held a meet­ing with Min­is­ter for Wa­ter and Power Khawaja Asif in the fed­eral cap­i­tal. The meet­ing dis­cussed dif­fer­ent power projects hav­ing im­por­tance for both Pak­istan and China.
