Pak­istan can thwart any threat: Pres­i­dent

Pres­i­dent Mam­noon Hus­sain Wed­nes­day said that armed forces of Pak­istan and the na­tion are fully ca­pa­ble to thwart any in­ter­nal and ex­ter­nal threat to the coun­try. Ad­dress­ing con­vo­ca­tion at NUST in Is­lam­abad, he said the govern­ment and the na­tion are com­mit­ted to con­tinue ef­forts till elim­i­na­tion of ter­ror­ism.

The Pres­i­dent said Pak­istan has been suc­cess­ful to elim­i­nate the scourge of ter­ror­ism to a great ex­tent. Speak­ing about China-Pak­istan Eco­nomic Cor­ri­dor, he as­sured that its route will not be changed at any cost.

On the oc­ca­sion he also told par­tic­i­pants that Pak­istan has im­proved its grad­ing at cor­rup­tion and it was only SAARC coun­try score bet­ter in this re­gard ac­cord­ing to fig­ures of trans­parency in­ter­na­tional. The de­vel­op­ment was a re­sult of govern­ment's poli­cies and co­op­er­a­tion of pub­lic, he said.
